Description

The Couristan Recife Paisley Scroll Indoor/Outdoor Rug - White/Blue is a classic color combination, ideal for traditional, white homes. This mold- and mildew-resistant rug is made of 100% polypropylene using flat-weave construction. Made in Belgium, it has a one-year warranty and can be cleaned by spraying with a garden hose.

About Couristan Rugs
For 80 years, Couristan, Inc. has been a powerful name in the area rug and broadloom industry. Owned by the Couri family for two generations and operated today by brothers, the company prides itself on having the most exquisite handmade and power-loomed floor-coverings available from anywhere around the world. Founded in 1926 by two brothers and appropriately named "Couri Brothers," the company began its humble beginnings by importing fine handmade area rugs from Persia. The first area rugs imported by the company were a few shipments of Sparta Rugs from Smyrna. At the time, the company began affixing "Couristan" trademark labels to the back of each and every rug it imported. The company would quickly begin to broaden its horizons, as well as its area rug offerings, by importing rugs from India in 1927. In the 1930s, Couristan began importing handmade hooked rugs from China and braided rugs from Japan.

          I'm using this rug in a screened in deck. I purchased it mainly for the colours. I was a little disappointed in how thin the rug seems. Not soft very stiff.

            This rug is used in an elementary school classroom which is all tile flooring. The rug warms and softens the area, helps create a quieter environment, and the blue and cream add to the calm and soothing atmosphere I try to maintain. Because it is indoor/outdoor I can vacume from student foot traffic and when necessary, take it outside and easily hose it off. The pattern and color are true to the advertised photos. It is absolutely beautiful, and I have had many many compliments. There was an initial odor when I received the package, but it appeard to be from the packing itself. Once down, there is virtually no odor at all. I have had the same rug on my screened veranda for five years, and I have had no problems. It is still as beautiful as the day I placed it.

            Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

                      I bought this rug because my dog is getting on in years and it sounded like the rug for me. Easily cleaned etc. Unfortunately, it did not solve my particular problem. My dog slips on the rug, so we had to put down another rug over top of it so she could walk on it. I do recommend this rug if you do not have such a situation. Our feet do not slip on the rug. It is beautiful, and it was exactly as pictured. Not as tightly woven as I had expected but good value.
